Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the choices you have. We have written it in plain language rather than legal boilerplate.
1. Who we are
QB Insurance LLC, doing business as Quote-Bot ("we", "us") operates quote-bot.com and the quoting tools available through it. We are a licensed insurance agency. Our licences are listed at https://quote-bot.com/about-us/our-licenses/ — agency licences in 34 states and producer licences in a further 13.

Our technology platform is provided by Broker Backoffice LLC, an affiliated company, which operates it on our behalf and under our instructions. QB Insurance LLC decides how your information is used.
2. What this policy covers
This policy covers personal information we collect through quote-bot.com, our quoting and planning calculators at tools.quote-bot.com, the booking pages at booking.quote-bot.com where you schedule a call with one of our agents, our chat assistant, and the emails and text messages we exchange with you.
It does not cover the insurance carriers you apply to. When you submit an application, the carrier receives your information and handles it under their own privacy notice.
3. What we collect
You give us, when you ask for a quote or use a calculator: name, email address, telephone number, date of birth, sex as used for insurance rating, address, and the details a quote requires — which may include tobacco use, height and weight, occupation, and annual income.
You give us, when you book a call with an agent: your name, email address, mobile telephone number, and anything you choose to write about what you would like to discuss.
You give us, if you use our chat assistant: whatever you choose to type. Section 9 explains what we deliberately do not keep.
We record about your consent: what you agreed to, the exact wording you were shown, when you agreed, the page you were on, and a hashed record of the connection. This is the evidence that we had your permission to contact you.
We collect automatically: the standard web server records that any site keeps — the pages requested, the time, the browser and operating system, and the IP address the request came from. We use these to keep the site working and secure. Section 11 describes what runs in your browser, which is almost nothing.
We do not collect Social Security numbers, or payment card, bank account or routing numbers, through this website or our chat assistant.
One thing to know about the coverage estimator: the estimator on our life insurance page and the needs calculators run entirely inside your browser, and what you type into them is never sent to us. When you click through to the quote tool, though, the details you entered are carried across in the web address so that you do not have to type them again. Web addresses are recorded in your own browser history and in our server logs. If you would rather they were not, go straight to the quote tool and enter the details there.
4. How we use it
- To produce the quote or illustration you asked for
- To contact you about that request, your application, and your policies
- To arrange a call you booked — to hold the time, confirm it, and remind you of it
- To send you marketing about insurance products, only where you gave permission on that channel
- To place and service insurance business with carriers on your behalf
- To meet our legal, licensing and recordkeeping obligations
- To detect and prevent fraud and misuse, and to keep the service working
- For advertising and measurement, through the tools in section 11
A calculator result is an estimate, not an underwriting decision; the carrier makes that decision.
A call you book goes into that agent’s work calendar, which we run on Google Workspace. The calendar entry carries your name, the date and time, and a link that only a signed-in member of our staff can open. It does not carry your email address, your telephone number, or anything you wrote about what you want to discuss — those stay in our own records. You are not added as a guest on the entry, so Google sends you nothing and has no address for you.
Our chat assistant is automated. It is powered by Amazon Bedrock and may process what you type, including anything you volunteer about your health.
5. Text messages
We send text messages only to a mobile number you gave us, and only after you ticked a box agreeing to receive them. Agreeing is never a condition of buying anything.
- Message frequency varies.
- Message and data rates may apply.
- Reply STOP to stop. Reply HELP for help. Reply START to rejoin.
- Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information sharing to subcontractors in support services, such as customer service, is permitted. All other use case categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with third parties.
When you opt out, we record the opt-out against every record we hold for that telephone number, not only the one you were messaged about.
6. Three separate permissions
We treat telephone, text and marketing email as three separate permissions. Ticking the box for texts does not let us call you for marketing, and neither lets us email you marketing.
Withdraw any of them at any time: reply STOP to a text, use the unsubscribe link in an email, tell us on a call, or email info@quote-bot.com.
Withdrawing marketing permission does not stop things you asked for or that we must send — a quote you requested, a document about your application, or a notice about a policy you hold.
7. Who we share it with
Insurance carriers and their underwriters, when you ask us to seek a quote or submit an application.

8. Selling and sharing
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We run no advertising, remarketing or audience-building tools on any of our sites, so there is nothing being passed to an advertising network — which is what "selling" and "sharing" mean under California and similar state laws, whether or not money changes hands.
We also do not trade or rent your information, and we do not work with lead buyers. Information goes to insurance carriers when you ask us to seek a quote, and to the service providers in section 7 who work on our behalf. Nowhere else.
If we ever add an advertising tool, we will update this section and offer an opt-out before it goes live, not after. We honour Global Privacy Control signals automatically in either case.
Text messaging opt-in data and consent are excluded from all of this. They are never sold, shared, rented or transferred, to anyone, for any purpose.
We do not knowingly sell the personal information of anyone under 18.
9. Sensitive and health information
Insurance quoting involves health information, and we treat it differently.
Some of what we hold is regulated as an insurance matter rather than a general privacy one. As a licensed insurance agency we handle what the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act calls nonpublic personal information, and in the states that have adopted the NAIC model, we are also subject to insurance data security rules. Those statutes sit alongside the state privacy laws in section 12 and occasionally require us to keep something you have asked us to delete; where that happens we will tell you which rule applies rather than simply refusing.
Some things are never stored. If a message to our chat assistant appears to contain a Social Security number, or a payment card, bank account or routing number, it is removed before the conversation is saved.
Some things are masked. Health details, dates of birth, contact details, addresses and policy numbers mentioned in chat are obscured in the stored transcript, except where the conversation is itself the record of a disclosure you deliberately made.
Health information is kept for less time than anything else — see the table in section 10.

We may keep information longer where a law, a regulator, or an actual or anticipated claim requires it, and we keep consent records for as long as we may need to show we had your permission.
11. Cookies, analytics and advertising
This website sets no cookies and runs no analytics. There is no advertising tag, no remarketing pixel, no audience-building tool and no tracking script of any kind on quote-bot.com. Nothing is stored in your browser. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.
Our quoting and planning calculators at tools.quote-bot.com currently carry no analytics either. We intend to add first-party analytics there — our own measurements of how the tools are used and where people get stuck, so that we can improve them — and we will update this policy before we do, not afterwards.
Two third parties are contacted when you load a page here, and it is worth being precise about what they receive:
- Google Fonts serves the typefaces this site is set in. Your browser requests them from Google, which means Google receives your IP address and browser details as part of that request. It receives nothing else, and we receive nothing from Google.
- Amazon Web Services hosts the site, so it handles the request itself. See section 7.
Links to our social media profiles are ordinary links. Nothing is loaded from those networks unless you click through, and they do not see you until you do.
We honour Global Privacy Control signals automatically. We do not respond to Do Not Track, as there is no agreed standard for it.
12. Your rights
If you live in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Texas or another state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may have the right to:
- know what we hold about you, and get a copy
- correct it
- delete it, subject to section 10
- opt out of targeted advertising, selling or sharing, and profiling
- limit our use of sensitive personal information
- appeal if we refuse a request
The quickest way is the form at quote-bot.com/privacy-request/, which gives you a reference number and puts your request straight into the queue we work from. You can also write to privacy@quote-bot.com or call (888) 804-8590 — the same people handle both, on the same 45-day clock.
We verify who you are before acting, and we will not treat you differently for asking.
13. Children
We do not knowingly collect data from, or market to, anyone under 18. If you believe we hold data from someone under 18, contact privacy@quote-bot.com.
14. Security
We protect your information with access controls, encryption in transit and at rest, and internal limits on who can see what. Credentials are held in a dedicated secrets store, never in the databases holding consumer records. No system is perfectly secure and we do not claim otherwise.
15. Changes
If we change this policy we will update the date above, and tell you if a change materially affects information we already hold.
